Hello all, Aimee again blogging on behalf of Dan. I don’t call myself a photographer. A writer, yes…reluctantly…but a photographer? Nope. No way. I don’t have near the knowledge and experience that Dan does. Ask me what an F-stop is, and I’ll laugh, which is why I leave the heavy lifting to DBE Photography (e.g. parent’s 25th anniversary party, high school graduation party, my professional headshot, newborn pictures when the time comes later this summer, etc.).
With that being said, I do love to take pictures with my Nikon DSLR (and even my iPhone), and maybe you like to take pictures too. I don’t know about you, but some days when I get bored, I decide—for fun—I’m going to go out and shoot some images, and it’s always a great time!
Here are my three favorite spots in Harrisonburg to photograph.
The JMU Arboretum
The JMU Arboretum is great, especially when the turtles are out to play, but you have to be really, really, really still to get them to come close to you.
2. Downtown Harrisonburg
Downtown Harrisonburg is an awesome setting, too. Don’t forget to check out the pocket park near 10,000 Villages! Cat’s Cradle is great as well and offers free publicity for a great cause if you post the pictures on the blog. Just make sure to ask permission before you start snapping away!
3. James Madison University
And last, but not least, James Madison University: the Quad, the Bluestone buildings, even the Quad cat, there are lots and lots of opportunities for neat pictures. Bright sunshiney days are the most fun!
Each of these places are also great settings for DBE Photography family sessions and Senior portraits. Engagement shots and bridal portraits too!
Where do you like to take pictures in Harrisonburg? Did I miss your favorite spot? Let us know in the comments, and check back next week for the second segment in this “Where To Take Pictures Series.” Three awesome places to take pictures in Rockingham County!
